Shane writes an AgileBI series called “3 AgileBI Things” published on LinkedIN Pulse. This article below is a copy of “3. AgileBI Things – 2016-17-07“. Shane also writes on AgileBI concepts at AgileBI Guru.
1. Metadata (aka Data Catalog)
I have always been furstrated at the lack of tools that are available for managing, augmenting and making metadata accessible for users. Looks like the market is finally moving on this with products like Alation appearing.
Great article on managing metadata here:
Managing Metadata in the Self-Service Age
2. BARC BI Survey
The BARC 2016 BI survey results are in, and as always its great reading.
Unless you want to pay a few thousands to pay BARC for a copy, then you will need to give up some of your details to a vendor to get a partial copy. Still worth it to me.
Copies are available from Information Builders and Qlik. (they both have different bits of the report, as they only publish the bits that make that vendor look good.)
3. Agile Poster
Last one for this week is a cool poster on Agile, awesome piece of work:
