Shane Gibson

Shane writes an AgileBI series called “3 AgileBI Things” published on LinkedIN Pulse. This article below is a copy of “3. AgileBI Things – 2016-10-03“.  Shane also writes on AgileBI concepts at AgileBI Guru.

1. Data Library

There seems to be a move towards the term “Data Library” starting to appear. It looks like a nice way to bridge the terminology between the old “staging area” we had in Data Warehousing 1.0, the current argument on whether we should have a Persistent Staging Area (PSA) and the horrid “Data Lake”.

A good start to your reading here.

2. Eckerson Self Service Reference Architecture

Great whitepaper from Eckerson Group here. Lots of good reading and a raft of concepts inside that you can adopt in what you do.

3. Modern Data Warehouse

Another theme emerging is the use of the term “Modern Data Warehouse” to describe DW 3.0 (or are we up to 4.0?)

Interesting Slideshare here it doesn’t give you the answers but it has some good content based on real life projects that will help start you thinking.
